The Pioneering Achievement of RLX Titanium
The Deepsea Challenge marks a historic milestone as the first Rolex made entirely from RLX titanium. This choice of material makes the watch surprisingly light and comfortable on the wrist despite its robust dimensions – around 30% lighter than the experimental steel prototype. The deep satin finish gives the model a technical, matte aesthetic that sets it visually apart from traditional polished watches.
Engineering for the Depths: 11,000 Meters
Designed to withstand the extreme pressure of the deep sea, this model is water-resistant to an astonishing depth of 11,000 meters. At the heart of that resilience is the patented Ringlock system, which uses a nitrogen-alloyed steel ring to absorb the pressure on the 9.5 mm thick sapphire crystal. The helium escape valve further guarantees that excess gas can escape safely during decompression without damaging the case.
Commanding Presence and Calibre 3230
At 50 mm in diameter, this is the largest commercial watch in Rolex's history, ensuring maximum legibility through the long-lasting blue glow of the Chromalight display. This giant is powered by the manufacture Calibre 3230, equipped with the Chronergy escapement and the blue Parachrom hairspring to deliver the highest precision and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
